Concept:

My work is a tribute to women and to our authenticity. I want to represent our life as a puzzle of emotions, experiences, learning and love. We are always looking for the piece that we need, the piece that completes us and leads us to authenticity.

 

Bio:

I am a contemporary artist born in Colombia and living in Miami since 1978. It could tell you about my extensive education in art, in Miami and Argentina, my exhibitions in Miami, Argentina and Paris, etc. I could tell you my preference for acrylic and mixed media, my great knowledge of color and my fascination with textures, collage, graffiti, etc., and how all this leads me to abstract art. Instead, what I prefer you to know, is that I connect with nature, I find inspiration where I least expect to, that painting for me is difficult and challenging as I suffer from a disease in the left eye that distorts vision, change colors and transform lines into curves, but my love for painting and art is so strong that it does not let that stop me. The only voice that influence my art is mine and that the only constant in my work is the change, such as life itself.

 

What does it means for you to participate in “Mirada de Mujer Miami”?

It is an honor to participate in this project with women of various nationalities, who show that no matter where we are from, the factor of love and respect for women unites us through the world.

Obra:   Autenticidad

 

Medio – Técnica:  Mixta, acrílico.

 

Concepto:  Mi obra es un homenaje a la mujer y a nuestra autenticidad.

Deseo representar  como nuestra vida es un rompecabezas

de emociones, experiencias,  aprendizaje y amor. Siempre estamos

 en  búsqueda de la pieza que nos hace falta, la pieza que nos  completa

 y nos lleva a la autenticidad.

Biografía:  “Soy una artista contemporánea nacida en Colombia y residente en Miami desde 1978. Pudiera hablarles de mi extensa educación en el arte, en Miami y Argentina, de mis exhibiciones en Miami, Argentina y Paris etc. Les pudiera contar de mi preferencia por el acrílico  y las técnicas mixtas, de mi gran conocimiento  del color y  mi fascinación por  las texturas, el  collage, el grafiti, etc. y como todo esto me lleva al arte abstracto.  En vez, lo que prefiero que conozcan, es que me conecto con la naturaleza, que encuentro inspiración donde menos me lo espero, que pintar para mi es  difícil y un reto ya que padezco de una enfermedad en el ojo izquierdo que distorsiona la visión, cambia los colores y transforma las líneas en curvas, pero que mi amor por la pintura y el arte es tan fuerte que no permite que eso me detenga. Que la única voz que influencia mi arte es la mía y que lo único constante en mi trabajo es el cambio como la vida misma”.
